Last year I decided that I wanted to celebrate Mother’s Day the Saturday morning before the actual day. I wanted to make it easier for everybody since we are a blended family we have multiple moms to consider and our married daughter has a mother-in-law to consider. It seemed like a good solution. We took this family photo on the front steps. Little did I know this would be the last Mother’s Day I would celebrate with Zachary.
Today was the second annual Mother’s Day Breakfast. We took our photo on the front steps and even though it looks different, thanks to my wonderful family, Zach it in his spot.
It has been a bittersweet day. I am lucky to have the most thoughtful husband and children in the world. They did everything they could to say how much they appreciate me while at the same time acknowledging our missing Zachary.
