2015 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 3,100 times in 2015. If it were a cable car, it would take about 52 trips to carry that many people.

  1. Zachary, although I haven’t commented before – I think of you and your Mom. I think of her post about the kitchen table. About what your friends have written and shared. I think of the many ways your mother has found, beautiful ways to say she loves and misses you – beautiful and terrible and so unbearable because they mean you’re not here. She loves you so.

I think about you when I see the Grinch, or Spider Man. The other day, I saw some boys having fun together. They were younger than you – by a few years – but there was something about them which made me think of you. Again, you were missed.

Yesterday, I listened to Starry, Starry Night and thought about you, too.

“I could have told you, Vincent – this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you.”

Only – your name was there, instead of Vincent. And this world WAS meant for you, Zachary. How I wish you were in it. I am so sorry you’re not. I listened and I mourned because you are missing and missed.

Come back, come back, come back I want to say. Come back to the kitchen table and sit there. Come back and undo what can’t be undone.

If only you could. I remember you, Zachary. And Zachary’s Mom.
